GH project #2

During the past three months, in digital citizenship class, we were given the privilege to work on  our second Genius Hour project. The project was for us to discover new things about what we are passionate about. And how can we teach that to the world, and how can we, through what we are passionate about, change the world.

The first step I took while I prepared my presentation was to find what I was going to present. I was scrambling my mind for ideas, when I got a really good idea. I found out that I was looking for inspiration. So, my project was about inspiration. Also because I always loved to inspire people, and make people feel inspired. I wanted to learn more about that art.

My second step was finding more information on the subject. I connected with people within the field of inspiration and motivation on twitter, as that was a requirement for the project. I got some responses, but those responses were rather brief. So, I used the internet with its reliable sources(I hope) to help me learn more about inspiration, and also structure my presentation. Through this step I learned a lot of things on the subject of my project. I learned that inspiration came from within people, and came from the will of being inspired, I learned that the human brain could be really helpful, if used smartly, because some people are just born being dumb. I learned that everyone has the privilege and the right to be inspired. I learned that inspiration comes from nothing, to later on become everything, or become something that could change the face of the world, forever. I learned that inspiration is a major key to changing the world, as it innovates people’s minds.

My third step is to grow as a person with the help of those informations. All those informations helped me to be mindful of myself and what I can I do to change the world around me. Those informations taught me that anything can inspiration can be found anywhere, and that there is no such thing as the lack of inspiration. They taught me that I always have to be ready to be amazed and inspired by my brain, or the people around me. They taught me that one of my thoughts could impact the world, in a good way, and that I should continue on thinking more and also working, so that one day, I hope, one thing I will accomplish is making the world around me,if not the whole world, a better place.

The fourth step, and my goal for the presentation, was to make people feel inspired, or at least try to do so.

My next Genius Hour Project will be about fashion, because being good looking could inspire the world around you, as it makes you look more credible.

Twitter Expert Connect GH 2

During the last two months, or so, for our Genius Hour(GH), we were assigned to connect with people on Twitter. Those people had to be related to the subject that we chose. I chose inspiration and motivation as a subject. So I followed people related to that field, ten of them. Those people are mostly experts but some are lecturers. If you wonder about their twitter names, here they are: @speakers_corner, @tenthchildinc, @SpeakerMary, @ka_lindquist, @JorisvanderVoet, @psychologian, @LesBrown77, @speakerbureau, @zakijam and @KristiLonka.

Connecting with them does not mean just following them. It’s more than that.  We had to mention them in the tweets we wrote about our subject. We also had to retweet them. All of that is so that they notice our existence. And then, we had to ask questions. The challenge is that, on twitter, we can’t write more than 140 characters. So, we had to write short interesting questions. I asked questions about motivation and inspiration, to all of the people I followed actively, all of them. I tweeted with the hope that they will answer. Unfortunately, only one of them answered. And that is Mme Kristi Lonka. So, I asked her another question, and she gave me a link to researches she made, about student behaviours. And her answers could feature on my Genius Hour presentation.

Thus, on my next GH project I might use this technique again, to connect with experts on the field I will chose.

Football

Soccer is a beautiful game. It is more than a game. It is a way of life. Soccer is better than any other sport. That is because of its class and the way it is played. Plus it is a family game.

Soccer is also a way of life, it is something I can’t live without. It is my way to relax when I’m stressed. I love my position too. I am a defender, right back to be exact. I love because I love bothering people on the field. I love taking the ball away from my opponents. I also love to win a game. And I believe without the defender, there is no victory.

Soccer is the best sport in the world. That is because of the fans, Soccer fans are the best. They are so electrified and support their team, till they die. Like I do for Arsenal. I’ll support Arsenal till I die. And I’ll make my kids support it too. So, now you know it Soccer is my favourite sport. What is yours?

Pros and Cons of being in a community

Being in a community is a great privilege. It is a need for humans to gather, and talk. It is a need to share, and to have company. So, belonging in a community is really important. However, there are positive and negative sides to being in a community. The advantages of being in a community includes: getting help from other community members, helping the others, supporting each other and inspiring each other. However, in a community, you need to conform. To fit in a community, you need to be like the people in it. And conformity is not always good. Conformity can lead to a boring community. As everyone would all be the same in that community. And that’s the sad thing about communities, they are all the same. So, you cannot do what you want. I think a community would only work if it accepts diversity, and unifies through that diversity.  It would make the community more interesting. To conclude, being part of a community is good, belonging in a community is better, but being who you are in a community is the best thing.

When I grow up

I can’t wait to finish school. And finally be independent. I hope. I want to leave my mark on this world. Like a famous soccer manager. Just because of my love for the game, I would open soccer camps worldwide. And donate to promote soccer everywhere. I would donate to the poor as well, and educate them. If they are good at soccer I would help them become better, and make them professional. I might also become a fashion designer, and produce nice sports clothing, accessible for everyone. I would also become a philantropists.

Game 1 SBC week 6

Today I commented on three other blogs. I commented on “A Artistic Blog”. I commented on a post about rhinos. I loved that post because I think we should make a move to save them. The next blog I commented is “Jeanphotojduf”. I loved his post on the supermoon. It is very helpful, if you want to take a picture of it, even though the next one is far away from now. The other blog I commented was “AlexOs’Blog”. I find her image sentence very creative. Here are the links to the blogs: https://jeanphotojduf.edublogs.org/2016/11/15/supermoon-assignment/#comment-11

The Goal!!!

The Death of America

I think America is dead. It was nice knowing it. But everything has an end. And I think this is it. It is kind of unfair though. Like where did democracy go? The old  country of liberty and democracy is now no longer the example. This is unfair, I think the people’s voice should be properly heard. And that no one’s vote should be considered higher than the whole population’s. Rigged.

My Favorite place to visit in my country

My favorite place to visit in South Africa is a really popular city. It is among CNN’s top 10 best city in the world. That place is Cape Town. It is South Africa’s parliamentary capital. Cape Town is really beautiful, and there are a lot of activities to do, from doing the garden route to visiting Robben Island, and shopping at the canal walk. Those are not the only things to do in the mother city, there are a lot of other activities, such as visiting the underwater aquarium, or the Cape of Good Hope, the most south western part of Africa.

Genius Hour Project reflection

For my first Genius Hour Project, I researched and presented on: unemployment and economic inequality in South Africa. And what did I learn from it? A lot, it gave me a better understanding of economy in general, but also South Africa’s economic path. I learned that South Africa has a lot of hope, but now the wrong path is being taken. Did it help me grow as a person? I became more aware of my homecountry, and how I can contribute to make it grow. I found out that to make it grow, I’ll have to do good at school, because education is the key to success, and after I can help South Africa move forward. Another question is what could my learning about this project contribute to the world. It gives hope to the world, because it shows that not only adults are interested in the economy, but kids too. That kids are also interested in their future, and are ready to contribute to make the world a better place. The solutions I found could help South Africa grow. The solutions were mostly based on improving education, and investor trust in the country. Also increasing the popularity of “Proudly South African” goods. The last question is: How will my next genius hour project help the world? It will inspire the world, because it will be about inspiration, or it will just be funny if i choose to do comedy.
